and so i guess it's only in times like these that we learn how to appreciate and cherish the fact that we live in natural disaster-free singapore. the escalating death toll seems to have an extremely disturbing effect on me, and i hope no one i know is missing/dead. it's just scary.

on another note, happy 2005. which also means that i have 44 more days with my family and friends. 44 more days to revel in the sights and sounds of singapore. 44 more days. somehow the number 44 doesn't seem to bode well. 4- sounds like 'sei' in cantonese, ie. die. and double 4- you get the idea.

i'm just so damn lousy in other things but so damn good at scaring myself.
