greetings from down under!!

i'm finally here in melbourne! melb's just great -- the weather's swell, the people here are nice and friendly, and i can't wait to start orientation! the first night here was really fun -- had an informal crepe party (think vanilla ice cream, maple syrup, fresh strawberries and blueberry jam) with some of the residents in my hall.. met a crazy vegetarian by the name of hannah who's absolutely great entertainment, a sweet japanese girl called misako, a very nordic looking bulk-sized guy called greg and many more interesting people that i can't really remember.. (oops)

i also went to explore the shopping centres near school by bus (transport here is really really ex) and it's pretty much like singapore in the sense that the shops here are quite similar to those you get in singapore (gloria jean;s, coffee bean, starbucks, macs, burger king/hungry jacks & a coupla asian eateries here and there). food here is pretty ex i must say.. a mars bar that would normally cost S$1 costs AUD$1.90 here.. groan. well i guess that would put me off snacking unnecessarily.. haha.

and today there was this bazaar at the campus center and once again i could not control my spendthrift ways.. (hoohoo) so i ended up buying things again but they were pretty value for money purchases i must say! :)

tomorrow's enrolment day, where i'll get to meet my new med classmates and mingle with the seniors.. think they've planned something fun for us to do.. can't wait! ;)
